THANKS TO BRIAN: just back from followup interview with Brian. Since we talked last, Brian has got two more blogs; one focusing on education commentary and the other on culture commentary. I especially enjoyed discussing the process Brian describes on his culture blog of trying to work out what this weblog is going to be about; and the tips on writing he provides. Brian suggests that 1] it is important to work out which readers you are targeting, and 2] what you want to say to them. Brian's discussion intrigued me because as academics anthropologists rarely explicitly reflect on who their readership is [in fact as Brian pointed out, this is in part because they feel they already know the answer; the same is not necessarily the same for bloggers]. Check the two blogs out. Thanks again Brian.

THANKS TO CHRIS: yesterday afternoon I met up with Chris of Blogosphical Investigations. It was fascinating to talk with someone who only posts occasionally and who therefore has a quite different perspective on the impact of blogging on libertarian activism. Thanks again Chris.
